Our commitment
JurisCred is built to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or captions. We design and test against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and will commit to that standard contractually.
Conformance status
JurisCred is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA: most content conforms fully, and the exceptions are listed below. A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT 2.5) will be published after our next full assistive-technology review and will be available on request from the contact below.
What we do
- Every page has a skip link, a single H1, a descriptive title, and visible focus indicators.
- All functions work with the keyboard alone. Reordering uses buttons, not drag and drop.
- Form controls are labeled; errors are announced and associated with their fields.
- Captions are required before any video lesson can be published.
- Status changes such as autosave, timers, and progress are announced through live regions.
- An automated accessibility check runs on every template in our test suite, and each release is reviewed with keyboard-only navigation and a screen reader.
Known limitations
- Institution-chosen brand colors are not yet validated for contrast automatically; we correct reported cases promptly.
- Extended-time accommodations for timed exams are handled today by the institution creating an exam variant rather than a per-learner setting.
- Audio description for video depends on the course author providing a text alternative in the lesson body.

If you encounter an accessibility problem, email support@juriscred.org with the page address and what happened. We acknowledge reports within two business days, track each one to resolution, and prioritize barriers that block learning or assessment.
